"The speakers covered a very diverse range of information and answered many questions I had. Congratulations to the members of First Peoples Disability Network the two days were set up and run wonderfully, very professionally. We need more gatherings to share this information with our mob"
FPDN hosted a Building the Aboriginal Disability Service Sector Gathering over two days, August 16 & 17 2018, in Tamworth NSW.
The workshop, initially targeted to the local area, was widely attended by local, regional and remote Aboriginal disability service sector providers and health professionals from around Australia.
The overwhelming response from our attendees was for FPDN to deliver more of these workshops across the country and we heard you!
FPDN will be rolling out a series of one day workshops around Australia in 2018/19. FPDN is not funded to produce these workshops and can only continue with your support. Find out more info about our upcoming workshops here
Here is what our mob who attended the Building the Aboriginal Disability Service Sector Gathering in Tamworth had to say –
“When will we hear these great voices in our parliament”
“Great opportunity to increase your understanding and the scope of issues around the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander disability sector. Great opportunity to share stories and yarn with other health professionals”
“Great work getting this together guys! I’d love to hear that this presentation will be seen by many more locations. So beneficial to so many!!”
“This was a great event and needs to be a national conference”
“Informative, friendly, safe place to share ideas.”
