COVID Rules and restrictions in NSW have changed
The NSW government has decided that we need to get on with living with COVID. Some of the rules in NSW for vaccinated and unvaccinated mob have relaxed, but COVID is still around. Here’s what has changed:
Rules have changed about checking in to places you go. You now only have to check in to:
- Hospitals, aged and disability care facilities
- Church, funerals or memorial services
- Business like hairdressers, nail salons etc.
- Pubs, bars, clubs and nightclubs
- Indoor music festivals with more than 1,000 people
Aunty June Says Some shops and businesses might make their own rules own rules to keep everyone safe. Be respectful. If you need help to work out this check in app, ask one of the young ones to show you or contact FPDN COVID Warrior Advocate.
Face mask rules have changed too. You must still wear a face mask:
- While on public transport or in a waiting area
- While using taxis and rideshares
- At airports and on aircraft
- For indoors front-of-house hospitality staff who are not fully vaccinated
Aunty June Says There is a lot of COVID around. Wear a mask when you are down the shops.
Visiting your mob
You don’t have to be fully vaccinated to have mob come to your place or if you go to their place. There are no rules about how many mob you have over to your place, you can have everyone over if you want to.
If you are visiting Elders or mob with disability in a care facility there may be rules for visitors.
To keep Elders and mob with disability safe it is a good idea to check it’s ok before you visit.
Aunty June Says If you’re feeling a bit crook it’s a good idea to stay home.
