Salvation Army Moneycare
The Salvation Army’s Moneycare is a FREE confidential financial counselling service across our Nation supporting people who are in financial difficulty or crisis with a view to improving their situation. Sandy Avis, Moneycare Financial Counsellor will talk about the work they do, the free services they offer to community and how to contact moneycare for support. Moneycare work with clients such as the young 16-year-old with phone debt, the couple who have just found out that the husband is to be redundant, the widow who has never been responsible for the finances, the small business who has run into trouble or people experiencing financial stress due to injury, illness, gambling, substance abuse and COVID-19.
MoneyMob Talkabout Northern Territory– Carolyn Cartwright
MoneyMob Talkabout is a not-for-profit organisation that works in the Northern Territory with a vision to empower Aboriginal people and communities to achieve economic wellbeing and self-determination. Carolyn Cartwright and the team from MoneyMob will speak about their work and the services they provide through their money support hub which provides a one-stop shop for local community members to interact with the broader economy in a safe and supportive environment. Operating in the APY Lands, with a permanant base at Pukatja, MoneyMob regularly outreach to all communities across the APY Lands, as well as Oodnadatta.
The Blue Knot Foundation National Counselling Referral Service – Simone White
The Blue Knot Foundation National Counselling Referral service (NCRS) is a key trauma-informed support for people with disability, family members, carers, advocates and workers who have experienced or witnessed abuse, neglect, violence and exploitation during these difficult times. Simone White, Blue Knot’s NCRS Manager, will speak about the work of Blue Knot’s NCRS supporting people affected by the Disability Royal Commission and more broadly.
