Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month 2024 is celebrated around the world and begins on Tuesday, October 1st, and ends on Thursday, October 31st.
The goal is to raise awareness of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and to inform the public about the many different ways in which people communicate using communication devices.
AAC Awareness Month 2024 carries the theme: “Vibes of AAC: Check it Out!” Whether people are discovering and adapting to AAC devices for the first time or supporting someone who uses AAC, they can expect to encounter unique moments that deserve recognition and sharing. These stories not only spotlight the challenges but also celebrate the shared experiences that come with AAC.
AAC Awareness Month is an opportunity for educators, students, and communities to come together, celebrate diversity in communication, and advocate for empowering those who rely on AAC. By embracing this event and its theme, we can foster a more inclusive and compassionate society, where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.
